LAGOS — The Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation (NPWF) has honoured HRH Eze Sir Godwin Ndubigbo JP, Ezedioramma, with an Award of Excellence and designated him as a Patron of the Federation.
The presentation took place at the Ohaneze Ndigbo Secretariat in Lagos Mainland, where the wrestling federation recognised the traditional ruler for his support and commitment to youth development and community advancement.
Receiving the honour, HRH Eze Sir Godwin Ndubigbo JP assured the Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation of his continued support, particularly in its efforts to use professional wrestling as a platform for youth development and empowerment.
He expressed his willingness to support initiatives aimed at taking more young people off the streets through professional wrestling training, providing them with opportunities to develop skills, pursue careers and contribute positively to society.
The National President of the Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation, High Chief John O Uche personally presented the Award of Excellence and Patron designation to the traditional ruler on behalf of the federation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Southeast Director of the NPWF, Hon. Fidelis Kene Chiekezie commended the National President for his leadership and efforts in promoting professional wrestling and expanding the federation's youth-focused initiatives.
The Southeast Director also described the recognition of HRH Eze Sir Godwin Ndubigbo as an important step towards strengthening the relationship between the wrestling community, traditional institutions and youth development stakeholders.
The NPWF reaffirmed its commitment to using professional wrestling not only as a sporting and entertainment platform but also as a means of empowering young people, discovering new talents and creating positive alternatives for youths.
