Kogi State Should Stand Behind Wrestling Star Aliking

             Aliking De Action Disaster

Professional wrestling in Nigeria is steadily gaining recognition as a powerful platform for youth empowerment, sports development, and international exposure. Among the athletes flying the flag of Kogi State is Aliking Attai Mohammed, whose dedication, resilience, and achievements have positioned him as one of the country's outstanding professional wrestlers.

Popularly known in the ring as Aliking De Action Disaster, he is the reigning African TopClass Wrestling Stars (ATWS) Middleweight Champion and a Peace Ambassador of the Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation (NPWF).

Born on February 6, 1976, Aliking hails from Okpo, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State. His wrestling career reached another milestone in June 2021 when he defeated Mighty Progress in Abuja to win the National Security, Peace and Unity Pro Wrestling Championship Trophy. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to sports and his role as an ambassador of the Igala nation, he was honoured by the Attah of Igala, His Royal Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, with the title of Igala Ambassador of Sports. He is also recognized as a world middleweight title contender, with both national and international championship contests ahead.

Aliking's achievements extend beyond personal success. Every time he steps into the wrestling ring, he represents the aspirations and sporting excellence of Kogi State. His continued rise presents an opportunity for the state to gain positive national and international visibility through professional wrestling.

It is therefore important for the Kogi State Government to support Aliking as he prepares for future championship competitions. Such support could include sponsorship for training, travel, accommodation, medical care, equipment, and other logistics required to compete successfully at elite levels.

Investing in talented athletes like Aliking is an investment in youth development, sports excellence, employment opportunities, and the promotion of Kogi State as a hub for sporting talent. Professional wrestling has grown into a global sports entertainment industry that creates careers not only for athletes but also in coaching, event promotion, broadcasting, tourism, and sports marketing.

Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) therefore calls on the Kogi State Government, corporate organisations, private sponsors, and stakeholders in the sports sector to partner with Aliking in his pursuit of championship success at both local and international levels.

Supporting Aliking today is more than backing an individual athlete—it is a commitment to nurturing excellence, inspiring young people, and strengthening the future of professional wrestling in Kogi State and Nigeria. With the right encouragement and investment, Aliking can continue to raise the profile of Kogi State while proudly representing Nigeria on the global wrestling stage.
