DUBLIN, GEORGIA, USA — Georgia Classic Wrestling (GCW, Inc.), a professional wrestling organisation based in Dublin, Georgia, United States, has expressed interest in establishing a strategic international partnership with Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) to strengthen wrestling development, promote talent exchange and expand the sport's global reach.

The proposed partnership, contained in a formal proposal signed by Chris Nelms, President and Chief Executive Officer of GCW, seeks to build stronger professional relationships between the American and African wrestling communities through joint events, technical training, youth development and international promotional activities.

GCW acknowledged PWA's commitment to advancing professional wrestling across Africa, noting that closer cooperation could create valuable opportunities for wrestlers, promoters, coaches, referees and other industry stakeholders on both continents.

seven key areas of proposed collaboration

Under the proposal, GCW has identified seven major areas of cooperation with PWA.

These include the joint organisation of international wrestling championships, tournaments, exhibitions and special events featuring wrestlers from the United States, Africa and other parts of the world.

The proposal also highlights international wrestler exchange programmes, which could enable athletes from both organisations to participate in competitions, training camps, promotional tours and wrestling showcases.

Another key component is professional development. GCW has proposed workshops, seminars and training programmes for wrestlers, coaches, referees, managers and promoters to encourage technical knowledge-sharing and strengthen professional standards.

Youth development and talent discovery also feature prominently, with both organisations expected to explore opportunities for identifying emerging talents and supporting their development through mentorship, training and career-building initiatives.

In the area of publicity and marketing, GCW has proposed collaborative digital content, interviews, media campaigns and promotional activities to increase the visibility of both organisations and their athletes internationally.

The proposal further identifies sponsorship and commercial partnerships as potential areas of cooperation, with both sides exploring opportunities to engage corporate sponsors, investors and other supporters for wrestling events and development projects.

Institutional cooperation and international networking complete the seven proposed areas, with opportunities for participation in wrestling conventions, conferences, industry meetings and other professional engagements.

early 2027 meeting proposed

As part of the next steps, GCW has proposed a formal meeting with the leadership of Pro Wrestling Africa in early 2027 to discuss the initiative, identify shared objectives and establish a practical framework for cooperation.

The American organisation has also expressed its willingness to work towards a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining the respective roles, responsibilities and commitments of both parties.

However, the proposed partnership remains subject to further discussions and mutual agreement between the organisations.

potential boost for african wrestling

If successfully negotiated and implemented, the partnership could create additional opportunities for African wrestlers to gain international exposure, participate in technical development programmes and connect with wrestling professionals in the United States.

For PWA, the proposed collaboration could strengthen its international relationships while opening new possibilities for talent development, event promotion, sponsorship and engagement with the global professional wrestling community.

GCW could equally benefit from closer engagement with African wrestling organisations, emerging talents and promoters through cross-continental events and collaborative initiatives.

The proposal reflects a growing ambition to build stronger international connections within professional wrestling and explore new pathways for talent development, cultural exchange and commercial cooperation.

While the practical details are yet to be finalised, the proposed meeting in early 2027 could provide an important opportunity for GCW and PWA to determine the scope and direction of their potential partnership.

The wrestling community will be watching closely as discussions progress towards what could become a significant bridge between American and African professional wrestling.
