As Nigeria marks her 66th Independence Anniversary, the Secretary-General of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA), Olusesan Olukoya, has congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad, describing the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s journey, celebrate its resilience and renew hope for a brighter future.

In his Independence Day message, Olukoya urged Nigerians to remain committed to the progress and development of the country, stressing that independence goes beyond a historical milestone and carries a responsibility for every citizen to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

“Independence Day gives us an opportunity to reflect on our journey as a nation, appreciate our achievements and renew our commitment to the Nigeria we want to build,” Olukoya said.

He identified Nigeria’s people, particularly its vibrant youth population, as one of the country’s greatest assets, citing their creativity, determination and resilience.

Olukoya, who has been involved in promoting professional wrestling and sports development across Africa, highlighted the important role of sports and youth development in promoting unity, discovering talent and creating opportunities for young Nigerians.

He noted that Nigerian athletes and sports professionals continue to demonstrate the country’s vast potential and ability to make significant contributions on both the national and international stages.

The PWA Secretary-General also called for greater tolerance, peace and mutual respect among Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious or regional backgrounds.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us. Our diversity should be a source of strength, not division. We must continue to promote peace, respect one another and work together for the progress of our country,” he stated.

Olukoya further encouraged young Nigerians to pursue their aspirations, develop their talents and actively participate in national development. He said the future of the country would depend significantly on citizens turning their abilities, ideas and creativity into productive contributions to society.

As Nigerians celebrate the 66th Independence Anniversary, Olukoya urged citizens to combine patriotism with renewed determination to contribute to the nation’s growth.

“Let us celebrate Nigeria with hope, patriotism and renewed determination. May our nation continue to grow in peace, prosperity and unity, and may the dreams of Nigerians at home and abroad continue to find expression.”

He concluded by wishing Nigerians a Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, while expressing hope for greater peace, progress and opportunities across the country.
