Mazi Onukwube TG Ofoelue (Thankgod), Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jungle Journalist Media Limited
The Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), Anambra State Chapter, extends its heartfelt condolences to the OMPAN Enugu State Chapter, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the entire Ofoelue family on the painful passing of their beloved member and colleague, Late Mazi Ọnukwube Thankgod Ofoelue, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jungle Journalist Media Limited.
The news of his demise has left the media community in deep mourning, as we have lost a courageous journalist, a committed media entrepreneur, and a passionate advocate of truth, accountability, and community development. Until his passing on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the age of 48, Mazi Ọnukwube remained a shining example of professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the journalism profession.
OMPAN Anambra State Chapter acknowledges his immense contributions to the growth of online media practice in Nigeria, as well as his unwavering commitment to the promotion of Igbo culture and unity. His active involvement in community-based media initiatives, including his role with the Eze Aro Media Team and participation in key cultural events such as Ikeji Aro and Aro Day celebrations, speaks volumes about his legacy and passion for societal development.
We also commend the Ofoelue Nwangwu Ivere Ijoma Family of Ezi Nde Ukpabi, Ugbo Village, Arochukwu, Abia State, for their strength and dignity during this difficult time.
According to the family, the burial of the late media icon has been scheduled as follows:
