Nigerian Youth Coalition Applauds Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi for Transformative Leadership at Energy Commission

The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), a national umbrella body representing youth groups from all six geopolitical zones, has lauded Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), for his exceptional leadership and outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s energy development.

In a statement issued by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, CONYL praised Dr. Abdullahi’s remarkable achievements over the past two years, particularly his effective implementation of the Renewed Hope Solarization Projects, which align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for sustainable national energy transformation.

> “Dr. Abdullahi has displayed exemplary dedication and innovation in repositioning the Energy Commission of Nigeria. His strategic initiatives have advanced renewable energy deployment and brought lasting solutions to Nigeria’s power challenges,” the statement read.

According to the coalition, the ECN under Abdullahi’s leadership has recorded several milestones, notably the installation of solar hybrid systems in 37 federal universities and tertiary hospitals across the country. These projects, the group noted, have provided critical institutions with stable electricity, reducing dependence on diesel generators and alleviating pressure on the national grid.

> “These landmark projects demonstrate Dr. Abdullahi’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that essential services such as healthcare and education enjoy reliable energy. His leadership has also been pivotal in driving Nigeria’s progress toward a greener and more sustainable economy,” the statement added.

CONYL further highlighted that the ECN’s focus on renewable energy has created new job opportunities, boosted local manufacturing capacity, and encouraged innovation among Nigerian engineers and entrepreneurs.

> “Through the deployment of innovative solar initiatives, Dr. Abdullahi has already delivered over 100 megawatts of clean energy nationwide, impacting students, medical workers, and local communities. His goal of achieving complete renewable power for federal tertiary institutions by 2027 underscores his visionary planning and commitment to national development,” the group stated.

The coalition also praised the ECN boss for embodying the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing him as a model of effective public service and result-driven leadership.

> “We commend Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi for his tireless efforts and dedication to national progress. Nigerians are proud of his achievements and the Energy Commission’s ongoing transformation under his stewardship,” CONYL concluded.

The youth body reaffirmed its full support for the ECN’s ongoing and future projects, urging continued government and stakeholder backing to consolidate gains in energy security and ensure a sustainable power future for Nigeria.
