The African Democratic Congress (ADC) recorded a symbolic victory in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State as its chairman in the area, Comrade Celestine Anadi (Ugochimeleze n’Adazi-Nnukwu), led the party to a decisive win at Polling Unit 013, Adazi-Nnukwu Ward 1, despite widespread reports of vote buying by rival political parties.
Eyewitnesses described the feat as an “unexpected breakthrough” that highlighted Anadi’s deep connection with the grassroots and his reputation as a leader who commands genuine loyalty rather than financial allegiance.
Observers noted that several political actors reportedly engaged in heavy cash inducements to sway voters, but the ADC candidate emerged victorious—showing that conviction and trust can triumph over money politics.
Comrade Anadi’s efforts, supported by prominent figures like Hon. Ebele Leonard Ejiofor (Mandela Anaocha), have breathed new life into the ADC’s political machinery in Anaocha. Under his stewardship, the party has gained remarkable visibility, attracting youths and community leaders who believe in its message of honesty, fairness, and participatory governance.
Reacting to the development, some residents of Adazi-Nnukwu said the outcome reflected the people’s growing desire for credible leadership rather than temporary handouts. “We voted for integrity and service, not money,” one voter said.
Political analysts see this victory as more than a local success story. To them, it represents a shifting political consciousness in Anaocha—one that rewards commitment and community service over corruption and inducement.
For Comrade Celestine Anadi, the triumph was not just a win at the ballot box but a validation of his years of tireless work, consistency, and belief that politics can still be about people, not price tags.
