COSEYL Decries OCHA Brigade Actions and Passes Vote of No Confidence on Gov Soludo.

                     Gov Soludo

... Says killing of pregnant woman and others by Soludo's security wicked and barbaric.

It is with deep sorrow and outrage that the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) expresses our unequivocal condemnation of the recent tragic events that unfolded in Onitsha Main Market, Anambra State, where members of the OCHA Brigade, a security outfit established under the auspices of Governor Charles Soludo, opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in the untimely deaths of innocent citizens, including a pregnant woman.

The actions of the OCHA Brigade reveal an alarming disregard for human life and the rule of law. Such reckless and barbaric conduct by any security agency, especially one claiming to operate for the safety and well-being of the citizens, is unacceptable. The use of lethal force against unarmed civilians is not only a grave violation of fundamental human rights but also a betrayal of the trust bestowed upon them to protect and serve.

COSEYL unequivocally passes a vote of no confidence on the administration of Governor Charles Soludo. His failure to ensure the safety and security of Anambra State residents under his watch is a clear indication of his inadequacy as a leader. The recent events paint a grim picture of a government that has lost control and direction, leading to fear and unrest among the very people it is sworn to protect.

We call upon the good people of Anambra State to reflect deeply on the implications of these actions and to reject the current administration in the upcoming gubernatorial elections on November 8, 2025. It is imperative that We stand together to demand a leadership that prioritizes the safety, security, and dignity of all citizens, and one that respects and upholds the rule of law.

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders urges all citizens to mobilize and exercise their franchise wisely. Let us choose leaders who will respect human rights, ensure peace, and provide security for all.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and all those affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.

Signed:

Comrade Goodluck Ibem
President General
Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL).
