The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, the Apex sociopolitical youth group in the South East geopolitical zone is alarmed over the spark of killings, kidnapping, robbery and other violent crimes in Anambra State which has taken over the state in recent times leaving the entire citizens of the state hopeless and confused not knowing what to do next.
It is truly appalling that the good people of Anambra state few years ago elected
Governor Charles Soludo to govern them whose primary duty is to provide security for life and property.
It is really unfortunate that that responsibility given to Governor Soludo cannot be handled by him given what is happening under his watch since he took over the reins of power in the State.
Under the watch of Professor Soludo as governor, two sitting Anambra State House of Assembly members were kidnapped and gruesomely killed under his watch which has never happened before since the creation of the state. Illustrious sons and daughters of the state are kidnapped in broad daylight, some unfortunate ones are killed even after paying ransom to the criminals. Even revered priests are not left out as they are also killed by this criminals at will in the state.
Progressing businesses and companies have closed down because of the inability of the owners to pay operational fees to the criminals who demands outrageous payment from the company before they can do their businesses in the State. Bereaved families pay charges to this criminal elements before they can be given the permission to bury that dead in the state.
Youth in the States are harassed and forced to join the criminal gangs without anybody coming to their rescue. The state is now a free home for criminals to perform their illicit activities without fear from any quarters. The list of the atrocities happening in the state are endless. Too sad!
This evil that is happening in the States is not the reason why the good people of Anambra elected Governor Charles Soludo to manage the affairs of the state on their behalf.
The current scenario in the State has proven that the act of governance is not just about speaking grammar on television, but it is about taken proactive action and doing the needful at the right time. The people are truly sick and tired of grammar.
Governor Charles Soludo has failed woefully in his primary responsibility of providing security for life and property and he must resign within 7 days of this notice to give room for a more capable hand to manage the affairs of the State and redeem the State from the hands of criminal elements who have taken over the reins of the State.
And if Governor Soludo fails to heed to this clarion call of the people to do the needful by resigning his position as the Governor of the State, we will have no option than to mobilize a 1 million man March Protest in the state and we will not vacate the streets and roads until he heeds to the Clarion call of resigning as the governor of Anambra State.
