Professional wrestling promoter and advocate Olusesan Olukoya has called on the Kogi State Government to support Nigerian wrestler Attai Mohammed Aliking, popularly known as De Action Disaster, as he pursues an opportunity to compete for the AIWF World Middleweight Championship.

Aliking, who hails from Okpo in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, is the reigning African Middleweight Champion and one of Nigeria's notable professional wrestling talents. Olukoya, who serves as Secretary-General of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) and Managing Director of Pro Wrestling Afrik Promotions in Lagos, believes the wrestler has the potential to represent Nigeria on the international stage.

According to Olukoya, Aliking is expected to travel to Northern Ireland for an intensive training tour, where he will also face Denmark's Johnny Evers in a featured bout. A victory would pave the way for him to pursue the AIWF World Middleweight Championship in Lokoja, Kogi State, against other contenders, subject to the competition's arrangements.

Olukoya said the proposed championship opportunity presents a chance for Kogi State to showcase its sporting talent while strengthening Nigeria's presence in international professional wrestling. He stressed that Aliking needs adequate preparation, technical development and institutional backing to compete effectively at the highest level.

He appealed to the state government, sports authorities, corporate organisations and private investors to support the wrestler's career through funding for training, coaching, equipment, medical care, fitness development and international engagements.

Olukoya noted that professional wrestling requires discipline, courage, physical conditioning, determination and consistent training. He added that supporting promising athletes could create opportunities for youth development, sports promotion and international recognition for the state.

He further argued that strategic collaboration among government agencies, wrestling organisations, sponsors and the media could help Nigerian wrestlers access international platforms and develop sustainable careers in the sport.

Olukoya maintained that Aliking's ambition extends beyond personal achievement, describing the wrestler's world-title pursuit as an opportunity to inspire young people and encourage greater investment in professional wrestling across Kogi State and Nigeria.

“We appeal to the Kogi State Government to support Aliking as he prepares for this important stage of his career. Investing in his talent could help promote the state and strengthen Nigeria's presence in international professional wrestling,” Olukoya said.
