Oasis Magazine has retracted a controversial publication concerning Hon. Ebizi Brown Ndiomu, who represents Sagbama Constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, and has formally apologized for the report.
The article, published on February 20, 2026, on the platform’s website, has now been discredited by the magazine’s management after an internal review.
According to a statement issued by the publisher, Daniel Dafe Umukoro, the report—submitted by a contributor identified as Diepreye Bagou—failed to meet the editorial standards of the media organization.
He stated that upon closer scrutiny, the allegations contained in the publication were found to be false and inconsistent with the values upheld by Oasis Magazine. The management acknowledged that the report crossed ethical boundaries and should not have been published.
The statement further described Hon. Ndiomu as a respected lawmaker, noting that the claims made against her were untrue and have now been officially withdrawn.
Oasis Magazine expressed sincere regret over any embarrassment or damage the report may have caused Hon. Ndiomu and those associated with her. The publication also reiterated its stance against blackmail and propaganda, describing the incident as a regrettable error.
The publisher assured that measures will be taken to strengthen editorial oversight and verification processes to prevent a recurrence of such issues.
